Marcus Rashford made his first appearance in this summers European Championships in England’s 1-0 win over Croatia after disappointingly being named on the bench. The 23-year-old was tipped to start the game but was denied a starting berth in the 2018 World Cup final re-make.

Marcus Rashford replaced Phil Foden on 70 minutes, and the camera immediately panned towards Wayne Rooney, who was in attendance at Wembley. The United winger was deployed all over the pitch during his short cameo, playing off the right, left and a brief spell in the middle.

England were comfortable for large parts of the game but had to survive a late push from Croatia, sacrificing their attacking output. Substitutions to Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling also meant that United’s supremo ended the game as England’s skipper.

Luke Shaw and Dean Henderson were both unused substitutes in the game, following anger towards Gareth Southgate over his decision to not play a natural left-back.

Harry Maguire was unlikely to be available for the encounter, but was in attendance to watch his side take home the important three points. Scotland now await for the Three Lions, where Scott McTominay’s side will be hoping for an upset.
