Marcos Braz: Léo Pereira-to-Cruz Azul reports were a lie

Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz has hit out at reports over a potential offer from Cruz Azul for defender Léo Pereira, calling the reported offer ‘a lie’.

Recently, in an interview with GE, Ricardo Scheidt, Pereira’s agent, confirmed that there was an offer from Cruz Azu that did not materialise.

Scheidt claimed that Pereira was set to receive three times more than the salary paid at Flamengo but apparently, not all the leaked details are true.

“The problem is that the proposal that appeared in all the media is not valid. The proposal was not for $5m for Léo Pereira.

“I even think that this is harming his career. Nothing. This proposal of $5m is a lie.”

Since arriving at Flamengo for around $5.5m (at the current rate), Léo Pereira has played 69 matches for the Rubro-Negro and is under contract until December 2024.
