Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti (30) has been told by Les Parisiens to find a new club after being deemed surplus to requirements by Luis Campos and Luis Enrique.

The Italian midfielder was left out of the PSG squad that was held to an away 1-1 draw at Toulouse. It has been reported that the Euro 2020 winner could become the latest high-profile player to be lured by a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia. The nine-time Ligue 1 winner with PSG reportedly agreed terms with both PIF-funded clubs Al-Ahli and Al-Hilal. However, L’Équipe understands that Verratti’s move to Al-Ahli is stalling.

The French publication understands that Verratti’s entourage wanted to change the personal terms that had been agreed with a counter-proposal. The Jeddah-based club’s executives were reportedly unimpressed and decided to halt negotiations. Al-Ahli have therefore stepped up their pursuit of other midfield targets, such as Atlético de Madrid’s Rodrigo de Paul and Inter’s Hakan Çalhanoğlu. The French publication adds that Turkish Süper Lig giants Galatasaray have shown an interest in signing Verratti.

Besides, Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano understands that Qatari side Al-Arabi are set to submit an official bid to PSG to sign their out-of-favour midfielder. The Doha-based outfit are reportedly trying to approach the player.
