After losing the Bundesliga by just two points last season, Borussia Dortmund have reloaded with five signings as they prepare for another head-to-head battle at the top with seven-time defending champions Bayern Munich.
Nico Schulz, Thorgan Hazard, Julian Brandt, Mats Hummels, and Mateu Morey have all joined Dortmund this summer and Marco Reus believes that a Bundesliga title is his side’s only goal this season.
“It should always be the goal to win the competition you take part in,” Reus told Bild.
“After last season and with our new signings this summer, another goal for the season makes no sense in my opinion.
“Mats [Hummels] is, of course, a sporting reinforcement for us. It will be important for us to quickly become one with all new players, on the pitch, but above all in the dressing room. That’s the only way we can succeed.”
Marco Reus enjoyed one of, if not, the best season of his professional career last season, winning the Bundesliga Player of the Year award following a brilliant 17-goal, eight-assist campaign.
