Marco Reus hit out at the officiating after Borussia Dortmund just failed to hang on for a draw at Bayern Munich on Saturday.

An early brace from Erling Haaland put the visitors in the box seat at the Allianz Arena, but Robert Lewandowski responded in kind (from the spot for his second) to ensure the sides were level at the break.

Despite losing Haaland to injury, BVB were en route to taking a crucial point from Der Klassiker before Leon Goretzka’s 88th-minute volley broke their resistance.

Lewandowski completed a hat-trick in the final minute to put a rather undeserved gloss on the result for Bayern.

Speaking afterwards, Dortmund veteran Reus was vexed by the failure of the refereeing crew to penalise what he claimed was a blatant infringement by Leroy Sané on Emre Can in the lead up to Goretzka’s strike.

“It’s a very clear foul,” Reus, who had been replaced by Reinier with just under 15 minutes to play, told Sky Deutschland.

“I tell you quite honestly that if that had been for Bayern, it would have been whistled.

“That’s just the way it is. There is nothing to add. That’s the way it is.”

The defeat saw Dortmund slip to sixth in the Bundesliga table, four points off the Champions League spots.
