Juventus icon Claudio Marchisio has revealed that he rejected offers in the past to join AC Milan, but he was very tempted.

Marchisio is regarded as one of the best Italian midfielder of the last couple of decades and won almost everything there was to win while at Juventus, but he has never hidden his soft spot for Milan.

In the end Marchisio left the Bianconeri – where he has been since 1993 with the youth sector – for Zenit St. Petersburg, but he did have offers on the table from the Rossoneri.

Interviewed by Fanpage.it Marchisio revealed some surprising statements about Milan, essentially confirming that the Rossoneri tried to sign the player several years ago, but without success.

“There were some advances from Milan years ago,” he said (via MilanLive).

“I have always said that the only club which I could have left Juventus for was Milan. But I resisted the temptation and I’m happy with my career.”

In the past Marchisio had already admitted that he had refused the Milan option twice: once when Massimiliano Allegri was in charged, the other more recently when it was Vincenzo Montella at the helm.
