Marcelo has had an extraordinary Real Madrid career.

Signed in 2007, Marcelo has played 542 times for the club and scored 38 goals. He’s also helped Real to 23 titles, including four Champions League’s.

Now 33, Marcelo’s time as a professional football is nearing an end.

He’s now a bit-part player at the club, having played just 14 times in the 2021/22 season at the time of writing.

His contract runs out in the summer and, as things stand, it’s not looking likely that he will be given a new deal.

Marcelo might be leaving the club soon but we could well see his son, Enzo, in the first-team inside the next decade.

Enzo, 12, currently turns out for Real Madrid’s youth side.

He featured for Real against Liverpool in the LaLiga Promises Santander on Friday.

And he looks a real talent. Enzo scored twice in a convincing 6-0 victory for Los Blancos.

His first, coming in the eighth minute, was a beauty.

Enzo received the ball on the left hand side of the box, showed great composure to cut inside before firing an effort with his right-foot into the net.

The youngster then wheeled away and mimicked Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘Siuuu’ celebration. Watch the goal below…

Marcelo was watching on from the stands and he couldn’t have been any prouder of his son.

Enzo then completed the scoring as he ran through on goal before easily dispatching past Liverpool’s goalkeeper.

Marcelo hopes to continue playing as he dreams of lining up alongside his son.

Speaking earlier this month, Marcelo told Marca: “I’m calm. This is my club. I have the idea of playing until my son grows up so that I can play with him, and I want to keep going at a high level.

“Now we have important matches. I’m the captain of the best team in the world.

“I’m calm and I feel protected. I’m not thinking too far ahead. Everything comes to an end.

“I’d like to retire here, but it’s not up to me to make the decision.”
