Real Madrid were held to a draw at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez against Getafe in matchday 33 of LaLiga. Marcelo reflected on the game: "It was a very tough game and we knew what to expect. We didn't lose two points, we won one. We had a lot of possession and we created chances".

"There's no time to rest. The players who've a lot of minutes don't get much rest, but that's what we have to do. We have to keep giving everything. That's how football works".

Fight for the league "All our opponents have important games to come. We have to rest, train hard and go into every game at our best because the league demands that. We won't know the winner until the end of the season. We always try to win everything we play for because it's in the club's DNA". “I don’t see myself as playing a secondary role. I do my bit, regardless of whether I get a lot of game time or not, because I’m one of the captains. I have to work hard every day and teach the young lads not to give up. I’m working hard to get back to my best. I need game time and I was lucky enough to play tonight. I’m going to keep on working to get more minutes. When you play, things go your way, even though you have to work for them. I love challenges and have to keep fighting away”.

Courtois: “The LaLiga title race is proving to be tough” “We’re a bit disappointed to only get a point because we wanted to win the game. We struggled in possession in the first half and improved in that department after the break, but we failed to find the spaces. The LaLiga title race is proving to be tough. It’s not easy when you’ve got so many games to play. It was difficult for us to move the ball around tonight because the pitch was dry. We had our chances but failed to put them away. I made some good saves, particularly after the break. Keeping a clean sheet is a positive, but we’re disappointed not to have got the win”.

“You’ve got to recognise the effort from the youth teamers. For example, Blanco and Arribas played for Castilla yesterday and the games are played at great tempo. They did really well. Víctor Chust also turned in a good performance. It’s good to see the academy boys playing for the first team”.

Togetherness within the squad “The strength of the group shines through in adversity. We’re not going to sulk because of the absentees and we just have to get on with it. The players who are here at Real Madrid are here for a reason”.
