Marcelo: "It's a really sad day for all madridistas and those who love the game"

Real Madrid captain Marcelo spoke from Real Madrid City to express his condolences following the passing of our honorary president and world footballing legend, Paco Gento: "It's a very sad day for those who love the game and all madridistas. Mr Paco Gento won six European Cups, 12 LaLiga titles and spent 18 seasons at Real Madrid. It's a difficult day for us and his family. His history and image will forever remain in our memories".

"We learned of this sad news as soon as we arrived here. I'll always remember him with great joy. He came here every time we had the official photograph taken and he’d tell us lots of jokes and made us all laugh. Gento is an encyclopaedia of football, he was a legend and we'll never forget him".
