West Ham have confirmed that star attacker Manuel Lanzini has penned a new long-term contract.

The Argentine’s previous contract had been set to expire next summer but he has ended any doubts about his future by signing an extension.

Lanzini has inked a deal until 2023, which also includes an option to extend his stay by a further two years until 2025.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, the 26-year-old’s new contract is worth £100,000 per week.

“I’m so happy to sign a new contract for West Ham. I think it’s the best decision for me,” he told the club’s official website.

“I’ve been here for a long time and I’ve said before that I like West Ham, I like the fans, I like the staff and when I came here all the people were comfortable with me.

“It’s a big decision but also easy because when you feel good in one club and you like the club and the club likes you, it’s easier to decide these things. For me, it was not difficult.

“I love London, I love the club, I am happy here, we have a very good team, we have a very good manager and we want to be in more competitions in the future which is good for us.”

Lanzini joined the club in the summer of 2015 and has gone on to make over 100 appearances in the capital.

During that time, he has contributed 21 goals and 19 assists.
