Manchester United’s interest in PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte appears to be cooling off. The two clubs are struggling to agree on a transfer fee, causing the deal to stall.

David Ornstein from The Athletic reports that Manchester United are exploring other midfield options after hitting a snag in their talks with PSG over Ugarte. The main issue is PSG’s €60 million asking price.

Meanwhile, PSG remain calm, knowing there are plenty of other potential buyers interested in Ugarte. Nonetheless, Manchester United isn’t bluffing; they have other names on their list as well.

The Telegraph’s James Ducker reports that the Red Devils’ interest in Ugarte interest not dead, but PSG would have to lower the €60 million valuation.

Moreover, Ducker notes that the Premier League side have considered the following midfield options after distancing themselves from Ugarte: Sander Berge, Richard Ríos, Martín Zubimendi, and Sofyan Amrabat.

Journalist Ben Jacobs also reported this week that Manchester United are looking at João Gomes from Wolverhampton and Andre from Fluminense as backup options if they can’t land Ugarte.
