The wait goes on for Bryan Mbeumo’s debut
Manchester United fans will have to wait a little longer to see Bryan Mbeumo in action as the club’s pre-season tour continues against Bournemouth.
The latest summer signing sat out the Summer Series win over West Ham having only recently joined, and Ruben Amorim has confirmed that there will be no debut against the Cherries.
The head coach told reporters: "Bryan is starting slowly. He is not going to play in the next one. We hope to have Bryan in the last game [against Everton]. He's training now, so we'll see."
Also out is injured goalkeeper Andre Onana, who has returned to training but will not feature during the tour. Noussair Mazraoui and Joshua Zirkzee are back in contention after missing the 2-1 win over the Hammers. The defender was sidelined with a knock and the striker is recovering from a "small issue".
There will be another chance for Rasmus Hojlund to make an impression ahead of the new season, and he should be alongside Matheus Cunha and Bruno Fernandes in attack.
Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire did not start against West Ham, so will be looking to get the nod in Chicago.
Manchester United predicted XI: Bayindir; Yoro, Maguire, Heaven; Dalot, Casemiro, Mount, Shaw; Fernandes, Hojlund, Cunha
Doubts: Mazraoui, Zirkzee
Injured: Onana
Out: Mbeumo
Time and date: 2.30am BST on Thursday, July 31, 2025
Venue: Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois
