Ruben Amorim has some big decisions to make as he bids to ensure Man United start the new season on a high

Sesko completed his move to Man Utd from RB Leipzig last Saturday in a deal that, reportedly, could be worth up to £73.7million in total if all performance-related add-ons are met.

The 22-year-old trained with his new team-mates for the first time the following day and Ruben Amorim has confirmed the striker is ready to play against the team he was previously linked with.

"Of course," Amorim said. "We didn't have a lot of time but he's ready. First of all, physically, he's ready. That is a big component in our league.

"Then, he's really smart. Every detail he asks, he's a guy that is always thinking. He spends all afternoon here working on his fitness, so he's ready to play, we will see if he's going to start."

There may be concerns over Sesko’s fitness and ability to play 90 minutes because he’s not played a game since featuring as a second half substitute in Leipzig’s pre-season friendly win over Toulouse at the end of July.

If Sesko is named on the bench, it could be that Mason Mount benefits. Whether that be in one of the advanced attacking midfield positions or as a false nine with fellow summer recruits Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha either side remains to be seen.

Elsewhere, Man United will be without Noussair Mazraoui due to injury. The versatile defender joins long-term absentee Lisandro Martinez as the two players guaranteed to miss out against Arsenal.

Andre Onana and Joshua Zirkzee missed the entirety of pre-season, but have since returned to full training and are options to the matchday squad.

As a result, Amorim’s back three on Sunday is likely to be comprised of Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire. Meanwhile, Amad Diallo and Patrick Dorgu look set to get the nod in the wing-back slots.

The Man Utd head coach has spoken of his desire to get captain Bruno Fernandes “near to the goal” but with a lack of central midfield options, he may ask the Portugal international to operate in a deeper role alongside Casemiro.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Onana; De Ligt, Maguire, Yoro; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Mount; Cunha

Injured: Mazraoui, Martinez

Doubts: Onana, Zirkzee
