Manchester United are leaving it late to conclude their transfer business for the summer.

According to Manchester Evening News, United are holding various discussions in an attempt to secure more signings before the transfer deadline next week.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already signed Donny van de Beek from Ajax for a fee worth £35m, as per BBC Sport. It was a good bit of business to sign the playmaker for a relatively low fee when you consider how much players such as Van de Beek afford nowadays.

The MEN report adds that United’s talks with FC Porto over a possible deal for Brazilian full-back Alex Telles are ongoing.

Telles, 27, would offer more competition for Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams, and he has entered the last year of his Porto contract.

There has been little to update on Jadon Sancho which is the signing most United fans had been waiting to arrive all summer.

Perhaps that is the reason Solskjaer has sounded downbeat on the transfer front when asked by the media.

Either way, it doesn’t help when the board doesn’t properly back the manager. And I don’t think they’ve done that.
