Manchester United Women have announced that captain Katie Zelem will leave the club this summer following the expiry of her contract.
Zelem was part of United’s inaugural professional team in 2018 and lifted the FA Women’s Championship and the Women’s FA Cup during her six-year spell.
She was made club captain in her second season and made a total of 161 appearances scoring 32 goals.
A statement from the club on Thursday read: “Everyone at Manchester United would like to place on record their thanks to Katie for her excellent service and wish her the best of luck in the next phase of her career.”
Zelem joins Mary Earps and Lucía García in leaving United on free transfers this summer.
