Antony is set to remain at Manchester United despite suggestions that Fenerbahçe SK are interested in signing him.

Erik ten Hag’s most expensive signing at Old Trafford has so far proven to be his biggest blunder as the United manager.

For the best part of his two years at United, the former Ajax winger has been a major disappointment, failing to provide any threat going forward.

Accordingly, the 24-year-old has slowly fallen down the pecking order. This season he is yet to start a single Premier League game, with Ten Hag preferring Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho over his €95 million signing.

Antony remained an unused substitute against Liverpool over the weekend.

Amid this difficult situation, a report on Wednesday suggested Fenerbahçe are keen on handing the Brazilian an escape route. The transfer window in Turkey remains open until mid-September.

The report stated that the Turkish giants are interested in signing Antony on loan to strengthen Jose Mourinho’s attack.

However, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Antony is going nowhere, at least for now.

“No truth in Antony-Fenerbahçe links from Turkey,” Romano posted. As per his camp, the Brazilian is committed to the United project and has no intention to leave the club this summer.

Late in August, Spanish outfit Real Betis also reportedly enquired about the right winger but Ten Hag blocked the move, as he still sees Antony as part of his plans for the campaign.

In recent days, Antony’s fellow countryman, Casemiro, has also attracted interest from Turkey.

It is understood Galatasaray have held talks with United to explore the possibility of signing the veteran midfielder, who has received plenty of backlash for his performance against Liverpool.
