Manchester United are reportedly prepared to consider the sale of Diogo Dalot during the summer following the excellent debut season for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Dalot was signed under former boss Jose Mourinho during the summer of 2018 and he was described by the Portuguese as the best European full-back in his age group.

However, he has since struggled to make speedy progress due to injuries and competition for places and he is now regarded as the back-up option to Wan-Bissaka for the right-back spot.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils are open to the potential sale of the 21-year-old, just under two years following his arrival from Primeira Liga side Porto.

Still, they are not under the compulsion to sanction his departure and it would take a fee of around £30m to £35m in order to convince them to cut ties with the versatile defender.

Earlier this season, there was the suggestion that Dalot could potentially put the pressure on Luke Shaw for the left-back role but that has not been the case with Brandon Williams benefiting instead.

The young graduate put in a number of impressive displays when Shaw was out injured this term and a recent report has claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees him as the first-choice left-back in the long-run.

Dalot won’t be short of offers, should he make the move away from Old Trafford. Mourinho, now at Tottenham Hotspur, continues to remain a ‘huge admirer’ and he could urge his side to make a formal offer.

Dalot has more than three years remaining on his existing contract with United. He has made only 33 appearances for the club. He has been sidelined for a similar number of games through injuries.
