Fabrizio Romano is a football journalist with an incredible contact book and soon he will feature as a guest on our podcast — The Strettycast — as we return for a new season of hot takes and everything Manchester United.

With over 3.2 million followers on Twitter, Romano has built quite a reputation for breaking football news throughout the world. I am looking forward to speaking to him on topics related to Paul Pogba, Jadon Sancho and more – follow @Strettycast for updates on that.

Romano’s latest update, however, claims United are currently not negotiating with any club for Pogba as the club aims to keep hold of the Frenchman ahead of next season. He dismisses claims about a €50 million price tag, even though the midfield ace has just one year left on his contract. The bottom line from Romano is that United won’t be tempted to sell for that figure this summer.

That means no contact from Real Madrid or Juventus, despite some outlets suggesting otherwise in recent weeks.

The midfield is playing a star role for France at Euro 2020 and tonight faces United team-mate in a big clash against Portugal.

With United needing a centre-back, I initially thought Pogba could get his dream move to Real Madrid (via The Guardian) with Raphael Varane coming the opposite direction, but maybe both Frenchman could be playing their football together next season.

Anthony Martial is another Frenchman at Old Trafford, who could leave this summer, after an underwhelming season as well as the fact United are in the transfer market for goals from a wide position.
