A terrible season was somewhat salvaged by the FA Cup success but Manchester United are now planning a large-scale summer clearout in a bid to revamp the squad.

INEOS have identified a few key players who will form the backbone of the new-look team moving forward and one of them will be Amad Diallo.

The Ivorian enjoyed a fantastic end to a difficult campaign, scoring the last-gasp winner against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final as well as in a league win over Newcastle.

Fans were excited to see what the 21-year-old could offer after his scintillating loan spell in the Championship with Sunderland in 22/23. However, an injury in pre-season last summer meant he was sidelined for the first part of the campaign.

Amad’s season-finale

Erik ten Hag slowly eased him back into the action and by the end of the campaign, the former Atalanta starlet had become something of a fan-favourite with the manager increasingly turning to the 21-year-old as the season progressed.

He is expected to take up an important role next season, especially as other right wingers like Antony, and Facundo Pellistri have both been linked with exits.

Things could have turned out different if HITC Football is to be believed with the outlet claiming that the United star had received a massive offer recently from an European giant which the Red Devils promptly turned down.

United have made it clear to suitors that Amad is not for sale and is considered an integral member of the first-team squad and his importance is set to increase next season.

United turn down Amad approach

“HITC understands Manchester United have turned down an approach from one of Europe’s biggest clubs for Amad Diallo.

“HITC can reveal via sources that an unnamed European ‘giant’ was ready and willing to take Amad off Manchester United’s hands and would have been willing to pay more than £30 million for the Ivorian.

“However, Manchester United have made it clear they have ‘zero interest’ in allowing Amad to leave the club as he is now considered of huge importance to the first-team by Ten Hag.”

The name remains unknown but it is clear from this that United now rate Amad very highly and will not let go under any circumstances. This represents a great turnaround for a player who has been constantly linked with an exit for the last couple of seasons.

The Ivory Coast international will be hoping to make his mark in pre-season this time out and cement his position as a starter once the real action begins.
