Manchester United are officially the richest club in world football, beating Real Madrid to top the Deloitte Money League.

The Premier League giants generated €676m in revenue last season, making them the highest-earning club for a record 10th time.

Financial service Deloitte, which publishes the table every year, believe that United’s Europa League win in May was the deciding factor in them just pipping Real Madrid to first place.

The Old Trafford outfit earned just €1.7m more than the Liga side, who themselves beat their Clásico rivals Barcelona into second.

The top 20 earners were, unsurprisingly, dominated by Premier League clubs – with half coming from England.

Elsewhere, German juggernaut Bayern Munich were in fourth with a total revenue of €587.8m, whilst Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus came in seventh and 10th respectively.

Leicester were the highest climbers this year, rising six places to 14th.

New entries in the top 20 included Southampton, Napoli and Everton.
