Manchester United fans learned of a new injury blow to one of their key players this week, with Amad Diallo suffering ankle ligament damage in training.
Diallo has scored or assisted 16 times for United this season, and he’s netted four of their last six goals in the Premier League. But Chris Wheeler reported for the Daily Mail on Saturday that the winger is expected to be out for at least two months.
Manchester United have since confirmed the injury, writing that Diallo will be out for “a number of weeks”. Even with that slightly more optimistic wording, the winger is set to miss United’s game against Arsenal on March 9th.
Diallo himself wrote on Instagram that he will “be out for some time”.

As well as Diallo, Kobbie Mainoo has also suffered an injury in training this week, and Fabrizio Romano reports that the midfielder could be out for 2-3 weeks.
The Arsenal game is just three weeks away, so that puts Mainoo at risk of missing the match as well. Manuel Ugarte also suffered a training injury, but he isn’t expected to be out for long.
United also shared pictures of Lisandro Martinez on Sunday after undergoing his ACL surgery, with the defender out of the season.

Other players currently expected to miss the Arsenal game include Luke Shaw and Mason Mount. As it stands, Shaw is set to return in April, whilst Mount’s return date is unknown.
