Manchester United scouts to keep a keen eye on Amadou Haidara

According to The Daily Mail, new Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has made Amadou Haidara a transfer target, and the Red Devils board are set to appoint scouts to watch him play against Union Berlin and Manchester City.

The 23-year-old was signed by Rangnick for RB Leipzig from RB Salzburg in 2018. The Mali international has become a key player for Die Roten Bullen. This season he has started in 10 games out of the 13 games that Leipzig played in the German Bundesliga.

Furthermore, he recently completed 100 appearances for the German club. A dependable player, Haidara continues to watch his reputation soar.

The Malian has been linked with a United move after the appointment of Ralf as an interim manager. Now it is believed that United are set to appoint scouts to watch two matches where Haidara is set to feature – the first one against Union Berlin on the weekend and after that against Manchester City in the Champions League.

The Red Devils have an advantage in the pursuit as the Mali international has already disclosed his dream to play for a club like Manchester United.

A key addition!

The Red Devils have been targeting midfielders in recent times. Paul Pogba is currently recovering from his injury, but his long term United future remains up in the air. On the other hand, the lack of game time for Donny van de Beek could push him towards the exit.

With Fred and Scott McTominay also failing to make much of a difference, making a dynamic new addition in the middle of the park would be a welcome move. Whether that happens remains to be seen.

Haidara has shown himself to be a versatile player in his game. He has excellent ball retention skills and can function both as a deep-lying midfielder and a box to box midfielder. The watchful guidance of Rangnick could see him take his talents to the next level.
