Manchester United and Ajax Amsterdam face off in the battle to sign Kamaldeen Sulemana

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United and Ajax are going head to head in the race to sign Ghanaian wonderkid Kamaldeen Sulemana.

The 19-year-old came through the ranks of the Right to Dream academy in Ghana before moving to Danish side Norsjaelland in 2020. He has made 26 appearances for them this season scoring six goals and assisting nine more. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Capable of playing on either flank, Sulemana is an exciting prospect who could go a long way in his career. He is tipped to become the most successful footballer from Ghana since former Chelsea star Michael Essien.

Indeed, Sulemana’s performances have not gone unnoticed in his home nation. The 19-year-old made his senior bow for Ghana last October and has so far won two caps. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in the player but Ajax appears to be pulling all the stops to land him. In fact, their director of football, Marc Overmars is set to travel to Denmark on Monday to watch 19-year-old play against FC Copenhagen.

The Dutch giants failed with a £10m offer for the player in January. Undaunted, they are ready to up the ante this summer.

Ajax signed 20-year-old Mohammed Kudus from Nordsjaelland last summer The Ghanaian helped them win the Eredivisie and KNVB Cup this season. Whether history will repeat itself with Sulemana remains to be seen.
