Manchester United transfer target Viktor Gyokeres is scoring goals for fun this season.
Gyokeres starred for Sweden last night, scoring four goals in a 6-0 win over Azerbaijan in the UEFA Nations League.
The Sporting CP star overtook Erling Haaland as the top scorer in the Nations League as he continues to outscore the Man City striker this season.
Gyokeres started the evening with five goals in five Nations League matches. His third goal against Azerbaijan took him to eight goals in six games in this edition of the Nations League, one more than Haaland.
But the 26-year-old didn’t stop there as he added a fourth goal soon after.
Haaland had been top scorer ahead of the final round of games after scoring seven goals for Norway, including a hat-trick in their 5-0 win over Kazakhstan on Sunday. Little did he know that his tally would be bettered.
However, Gyokeres was also involved in the build-up for Dusan Kulusevski’s opening goal. That means he came away from last night’s game with five-goal contributions.
It’s no wonder so many big European clubs want Gyokeres.

Although there is little reason to scout Gyokeres since our head coach knows him better than most, United are keeping a close eye on the Swede by sending scouts to matches.
United sent Sergio Souza to watch Gyokeres play, and score, for Sweden in Stockholm last weekend.
Souza confirmed his attendance at the game with a social media post on Instagram.
Gyokeres opened the scoring against Serbia within the opening three minutes, so Souza hardly had time to find his seat beforehand.
Gyokeres scored his fourth hat-trick of the season last night, with one coming against Man City in a 4-1 win.
To make it better, he has 30 goals for club in country, and it has taken him just 24 game to reach that tally.
With 54 goals in 2024, Ronaldo has already surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo’s highest goalscorer tally (53) from 2023.
That explains why Ruben Amorim would want to bring the Swede to Old Trafford next summer.
