Manchester United transfer target Jadon Sancho reveals he was a boyhood Chelsea fan who idiolised the likes of Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.

Sancho, who hails from London, has previously lived in Manchester where he came through Man City’s academy before moving to Borussia Dortmund in search of first team football. The gamble paid off and now the English winger is wanted by the biggest club in England – offering him a route back to his homeland to play in the Premier League.

The winger has scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in 137 games across all competitions since joining BVB in 2017 as a teenager. He has won the DFL Super Cup and the DFB Pokal during his time at the club.

Chatting ahead of Euro 2020, Sancho was asked to name his role models growing up.

“I’d probably say Frank Lampard,” Sancho told talkSPORT. “I was a Chelsea fan growing up, I can’t lie! Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard were my favourite players at the time. I just love Lampard and how he played his game; he was so direct and so composed on the ball. I like things like that.”

United have been watching Sancho for years but it looks like progress is being made this summer on a deal. Hopefully he will be part of our front three next season because I couldn’t care less who he supports.
