Manchester United star suing New Balance because boots hurt his feet | OneFootball

Marouane Fellaini is suing sportswear manufacturer New Balance for a whopping £2.1 million after claiming their boots caused a “loss of enjoyment, inconvenience and impact on performance”.

Fellaini signed a four-year boot deal with the American company in 2012 and in a legal writ submitted to London’s High Court, the Belgian international midfielder said the “poor quality” boots had to be “steamed and stretched” by United’s kitman before he could get them on.

The 29-year-old also said he “repeatedly communicated his frustration” to New Balance when their boots caused “considerable damage” to his feet and is now seeking compensation after they walked away from a new £600,000-a-year contract.

Fellaini has worn Nike boots since February but New Balance argue in court papers that he once described their boots as “perfect” and asked for 12 more pairs.
