Manchester United are interested in RB Leipzig and Germany international David Raum, according to Florian Plettenburg.
Under new head coach Ruben Amorim, Manchester United will be taking a close look at their squad this winter and where they need to improve.
It’s possible that some signings could be made in the winter but the longer view will also be to look at players for the upcoming summer.
David Raum is one of those players. The left full-back is seen as someone who can make the left-back role his role. Particularly because Amorim plans to play a back three during his time at United.
This is a role Raum is familiar with and can also operate as a wing-back if needed.
Raum has seen minimal playing time this season due to an ankle injury which required an operation in October.
The player has been in rehabilitation since but is likely to resume team training during the winter break.
It’s possible that the German could be back playing for Leipzig at the start of the Rückrunde (second half of the Bundesliga season).
Currently, Raum’s transfer value is €25m. If playing time continues to be minimal, it’s possible United could get a lower price for the full-back.
