Manchester United seeking £21.5m for Jesse Lingard

According to football journalist Pedro Almeida, via Hammers News (h/t The Mirror), Manchester United will demand £21.5m for the services of Jesse Lingard this summer.

The 28-year-old made the right decision to leave United on loan in January. He has since thrived at West Ham United, scoring nine goals and four assists in just 10 games.

Lingard is not only tearing it up and silencing his detractors but also making other clubs sit up and take notice. His form has also seen him return to the England fold ahead of this summer’s Euros.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recently admitted that Lingard might still have a future at Old Trafford. However, with just a year left on his current deal, a decision will have to be made.

The 28-year-old was held in high regard by both Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho and played a number of games for both managers. However, he failed to hit the ground running under Solskjaer and has largely been a peripheral player.

With him having experienced better fortune away from the Norwegian, it remains to be seen if he is keen to return to the Theatre of Dreams.

The player for his part is keen to move to West Ham. He is ready to reject interest from both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to make it happen.
