Manchester United reportedly want Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte and his agent is doing his part to help the Red Devils secure the Uruguayan this summer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that PSG are considering loaning Ugarte. However, they want the deal to include a mandatory purchase clause. Ideally, they’re aiming for either a permanent transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy.

The transfer fee has been the hurdle between the two clubs preventing a deal from going through. Journalist Duncan Castles reported that Manchester United have made a £42 million offer for Ugarte, but PSG is holding out for the £50 million they originally paid for him.

Still, the Red Devils are receiving some help as SPORTS ZONE reports that with the pending arrival of João Neves, Ugarte’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is attempting to get his client to Old Trafford.

Castle’s initial reporting reveals that the player’s representatives are optimistic that they’ll find a solution and that Ugarte will eventually join the Premier League side. Moreover, he also adds that Manchester United are exploring other options for their midfield instead of Ugarte.
