Manchester United ready to adopt flexible approach in the transfer market

As reported by The Telegraph, Manchester United are “ready to adopt an ultra-flexible approach” in the summer transfer window. This means that although the club aren’t actively looking to sell players such as Marcus Rashford but if they receive an interesting offer, then they would be open to selling such a player.

This has been set out by the club’s new hierarchy given the revenue that the Old Trafford outfit will miss out on with no Champions League football next season with Manchester United in sixth, and six points behind Tottenham Hotspur – who hold a game in hand – with four games remaining.

However, despite Manchester United’s new strategy in the transfer market, some players are off limits. The Telegraph report these to be Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Højlund, with the club looking to build their squad around the younger stars in the team.

Transfermarkt’s market values for Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes (€70m) has the highest market value in the Manchester United squad, according to Transfermarkt, followed by Højlund (€65m) and Rashford (€60m). There’s then quite a big drop off with Lisandro Martinez (€45m) and André Onana, Mason Mount and Garnacho coming in at €40m.
