Manchester United are expected to be active in the summer transfer window and one name they are being heavily linked with is that of Eberechi Eze. The Crystal Palace star has enjoyed a solid season and has attracted interest from several Premier League sides.

As the Man Utd transfer news reported by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Ruben Amorim has specifically asked the Manchester United board to do everything in their power to sign Eze. The Portuguese manager considers the English international to be a key piece in his long-term plans at Old Trafford.

Eze has the kind of skillset that Amorim wants in his new-look Manchester United attack and is viewed as someone who could make an immediate impact.

The 26-year-old has made over 160 appearances for Crystal Palace since joining them from Queens Park Rangers in 2020. He has contributed with 33 goals and 28 assists during that time and has also earned 10 caps for the England national team, scoring once.

Eze is comfortable playing as an attacking midfielder or out wide, which makes him an ideal fit in different systems. That kind of versatility could be a huge bonus for Amorim, who is expected to make significant changes to United's frontline this summer.

Of course, signing him won’t be easy. Not only will Manchester United have to negotiate a deal with Crystal Palace, but they also face stiff competition from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.

The Villans, interestingly, could enter the race for Eze if they fail to make Marcus Rashford’s loan deal permanent.

Manchester United have lacked spark in the final third for much of the campaign. Bringing in someone like Eze could help change that dynamic and add creativity to the side.

Now, it remains to be seen if the Red Devils are able to strike a deal for one of the most exciting English players in the Premier League today.
