Manchester United are on the lookout for creative midfielders who can add goals to the club’s tally with Christian Eriksen set to depart once the current season concludes.

Amad was that outlet but with the club missing out on Geovany Quenda, there have been murmurs that Ruben Amorim could utilise the Ivorian as a wingback instead once he returns from injury.

Justin Kluivert’s name has been added to the mix by CaughtOffside and United scouts will know all about him with former boss Jose Mourinho earmarking him as a target more than seven years ago.

Since moving to Bournemouth, the Dutch ace has gone from strength to strength, and in this campaign alone, the 25-year-old has 13 goals to his name as well as seven assists.

Kluivert has impressed for Bournemouth

He can play as an attacking midfielder and even out wide if needed and most importantly, the Netherlands international is open to leaving the Vitality Stadium should a top team approach him.

However, the high-flying Cherries, who had acquired him for €10.8 million in 2023, have slapped an asking price of €50-55 million on the former Ajax ace’s head.

However, that has not deterred his suitors like Newcastle, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur from circling and all three are set to compete with the 20-time English league champions for Kluivert’s signature.

“According to Caught Offside sources, Man United have been closely monitoring Justin Kluivert’s performances for some time. The Red Devils have added the youngster to their transfer list as an alternative on the wing and offensive line.

United eyeing him

“Newcastle United see Kluivert as a strategic signing that could boost their offense. Liverpool and Tottenham are other strong candidates linked with Kluivert.

“Bournemouth’s asking price of €50-55 million is considered a reasonable amount for potential suitors. The Dutchman is open to leaving Bournemouth if he receives an offer from one of the Premier League giants.”

Whether INEOS can afford such an extensive outlay on a creative midfielder when Amorim is crying out for an elite striker remains to be seen.

The three-time European champions also have Kenan Yildiz and Xavi Simons on their list but both are also going to cost a lot of money. INEOS will have to prioritise once the summer window opens.
