Neymar has been linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain for some time but had been linked with Real Madrid.

Now, though, the Mirror say Manchester United are planning to sign him for a world record fee.

The Brazilian joined the French champions last summer for a world record €222m fee just last summer but Neymar, who has been injured for the last two-and-a-half months is said to be disappointed with the lack of competitiveness in Ligue 1.

PSG could make their money back by selling him to United this summer, with the club reportedly willing to pay another world record fee to sign him.

The Mirror report goes on to say Neymar’s father and agent is a Manchester United fan and wants to see his son play for the club one day.

Manchester United have secured a second place finish in the Premier League this season but are 19 points adrift of rivals Manchester City heading into the final day.

Even with the January signing of Alexis Sánchez, the club are likely to invest heavily in the summer and a marquee signing such as Neymar would perfectly fit their marketing ideas as well as their sporting ambitions.
