Manchester United are considering to call Facundo Pellistri back from Deportivo Alaves due to lack of game-time

According to Noticias Dealava (h/t Sports Mole), Manchester United are looking to bring back Facundo Pellistri from his loan move at Deportivo Alaves due to lack of minutes.

The 19-year-old signed for the Old Trafford outfit last summer from Uruguayan outfit Penarol and went on to feature in the club’s pre-season training fixtures, but was sent out on loan to get so much-needed game-time.

Given that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already possesses the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, and Jesse Lingard in their ranks, it was a wise move to send the winger out on loan.

Thus, a loan deal to Deportivo Alaves was finalized, and the Uruguayan packed his bags to Spain. However, since completing his move there, the youngster has lacked game-time and is often used as a substitute rather than a starter.

The 19-year-old has only managed 1 start in La Liga and has accumulated less than 200 minutes on the pitch across 7 games. Hence, United are now planning on recalling the youngster in January before loaning him out to a club where he would receive regular starts.

The whole point of sending out the winger on loan was so that he could play regularly and continue his development before he comes back to Old Trafford next summer.

Moreover, if Alaves are not providing the player with the necessary game-time, there might be some other club looking for a talented right-winger.

Additionally, given that Edinson Cavani and Jesse Lingard might leave the club next summer, some youngsters could be introduced into the squad, and Pellistri would surely want his name to be one of them.
