Damaging reports have emerged tonight for Erik ten Hag with his future believed to hang in the balance at Manchester United ahead of the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Several clubs in the Premier League have been quick to part ways with their managers and go their separate ways ahead of the summer, although it remains to be seen if United will join the mix.

I, for one, hope Ten Hag is given a third season in charge. There aren’t any outstanding candidates this summer and he deserves a chance with a proper football structure behind him.

Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett has provided a telling update tonight suggesting Manchester United officials have already met with representatives of Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna.

These talks took place in case United decide to replace Ten Hag as manager after the FA Cup final.

It is understood McKenna’s representatives met with Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox.

This would suggest that United could go head-to-head with Chelsea for McKenna, who previously worked at United as part of Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s coaching staff.

McKenna was thought highly of at Old Trafford but, like all members of Solskjaer’s backroom staff, suffered unfair criticise towards the end.

Those critics are eating their words after McKenna’s back-to-back promotions with Ipswich Town.
