Lille defender Leny Yoro looks as if he will be the subject of one of the pursuits of the summer, with Real Madrid hoping to end up with the 18-year-old at the end of it. As a general rule, Los Blancos tend to win the battle for brilliant teenage talents, but there are added complications.
Real Madrid have set a limit of €40m to spend on Yoro, including bonuses, with his contract up in 2025. However that is well below the €60m asking price that Les Dogues have set. Manchester United have enquired about him this week according to reports, and Paris Saint-Germain had a bid turned down for him in January. Earlier in the year, Liverpool were also credited with interest.
According to Matteo Moretto, there are multiple Premier League sides willing to outspend Real Madrid by a considerable amount. Yoro prefers to move to Real Madrid, and wants to move this summer, but the Champions League-holders have asked him for patience this summer, as they try to negotiate Lille down. Whether they can bring the price within their budget first, or another side can persuade Yoro to accept their first, looks like being the decisive factor.
