Martin Sjögren’s side collected maximum points from their opening two qualifiers against Armenia and Kosovo last month, scoring 13 goals and conceding zero.
The Norwegian Football Association, The NFF, announced head coach Sjögren’s 23-player squad for their upcoming matches against Poland and Belgium earlier today with Manchester United’s Bøe Risa being one of five Barclays FA Women’s Super League players included.
Bøe Risa is joined in the squad by Manchester United teammate Maria Thorisdottir while Arsenal’s Frida Maanum, Chelsea’s Guro Reiten and Reading’s Amalie Eikeland have also been selected. Should she play in either game, Bøe Risa will hit the 40-cap milestone for her country, a little over five years on from making her senior debut.
Norway travel to Łódź to face Poland on Thursday 21 October before hosting Belgium at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo five days later. Despite being just two games into their qualifying campaign, Norway are the only team in their group with a maximum points return. Belgium and Poland sit in second and third in the group with four points from their two games. The pair played out a 1-1 draw in Gdańsk last month.
