Alex Telles arrival last summer was seemingly to replace the former Southampton man but instead, Shaw took his game to another level and is now recognized as one of the best in the world.
Shaw has two years remaining on his current deal at the club but the club is now looking to offer him a long-term contract, according to reports.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who say that a new deal will be offered in the next few months and that Shaw is seen as a key in Manchester United’s plan to challenge for top honours again.
Shaw, along with the other Manchester United representatives in the England squad, is due back at Carrington for training early next week as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ramps up pre-season preparations.
