Ever since Ruben Amorim has come in, intensity has been a mantra he has often repeated and Manchester United’s approach in the transfer market is likely to be centred on that.
As a result of his desire for fitter and more athletic players, both Christian Eriksen and Casemiro are likely to be playing their final season in red.
The Portuguese wants a midfielder with a great engine and technicality to be able to understand his system and they are reportedly eyeing a Real Madrid superstar as per Spanish outlet Bernabeu Digital.
Eduardo Camavinga’s entourage has been contacted by intermediaries regarding United’s interest with the Frenchman’s age and profile making him a perfect fit for Amorim’s system.
The 22-year-old, who has started only five games this campaign, is reportedly flattered with the interest and the prospect of regular minutes that the Red Devils can provide.
Camavinga has had to play in defensive midfielder, further forward and even at left-back with the France international hardly ever grasping one role with both hands.
But United could offer him the chance to play in the middle of the park and are eyeing a realistic approach next summer with a January move practically ruled out after INEOS’ recent budgetary decision.
However, the ex-Stade Rennais star has no intention of jumping ship while Los Blancos are also very pleased with the France international’s displays and they have no reason to let go of the versatile ace.
“The ‘red devils’ have contacted an important player in the Real Madrid squad through intermediaries. We at Bernabéu Digital have found that Eduardo Camavinga’s entourage is aware of Manchester United’s interest, either for January (a practically impossible scenario) or for the summer of 2025.
“Although Camavinga is flattered by the interest of one of the most important clubs in the world, his desire is to remain at Real Madrid for many more years.
“Having arrived at the Santiago Bernabéu in the summer of 2021, it is hard to believe that he is not yet an undisputed starter for Carlo Ancelotti, but the club are delighted with the Frenchman.”
The two-time Champions League winner has a market value of €100 million with his contract valid until 2029. And unless Real decide to part ways, the 20-time English league champions will find it hard to acquire Camavinga’s signature.
