Manchester United are prepared to address their wing-back area as they look to revamp Ruben Amorim’s squad.

Much has been made about United’s wing-back options following Amorim’s arrival as the Portuguese tactician’s 3-4-3 heavily relies on wing-backs to create width and make a difference in the final third.

In fact, Amorim’s first signing as United head coach was Dane full-back Patrick Dorgu, who joined the Red Devils from Lecce in January.

United have started their summer transfer business by addressing their attack but they reportedly remain interested in adding another wing-back to Amorim’s ranks.

Manchester United keen on Estupiñán

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, United “hold a genuine interest” in Brighton & Hove Albion star Pervis Estupiñán.

The 27-year-old is known for his ball progression and delivery into the penalty area, making him an ideal fit for the wing-back role under Amorim.

It is claimed United have held talks “on the player side” but are yet to make a formal approach to Brighton.

The Seagulls are reportedly open to selling the Ecuadorian, as they have signed highly-rated left-back Maxim De Cuyper from Club Brugge.

However, United face strong competition from AC Milan, who are exploring the market for Theo Hernández’s replacement.

Manchester United unlikely to prioritise Estupiñán

Despite their “genuine interest” in the Brighton defender, United are unlikely to push for his signature imminently as they are working on finding an agreement with Brentford over Bryan Mbeumo’s transfer fee.

United also want to focus on outgoings to raise funds for further additions.

The Mancunians are prepared to cut ties with full-back Tyrell Malacia and have slashed their asking price for the Dutchman, who has been linked with Celtic.
