According to The Athletic, Manchester United have held talks for Atlético Madrid striker Álvaro Morata.

Morata is reportedly available for €35million. The Spanish striker spent the last two seasons on loan at Juventus, scoring 32 goals in 92 games.

The 29-year-old would only consider the option of returning to Juventus if the Italians exercised an option to buy.

ESPN have reported that Morata has been offered to United, who are looking for another attacking player to add to their squad.

Atlético, who have five strikers in their squad, and want to keep just four at the club for the new season, could accept a loan deal, but Morata would command significant wages.

Morata has a contract with Atlético until 2024 but the Spanish club are willing to listen to United’s proposal.

According to Spanish outlet El Confidencial, he is happy at Atlético and wants to play an important role at the club this season.
