Manchester United goalkeeper Emily Ramsey has joined the club’s Barclays Women’s Super League rivals Everton on a season-long loan deal.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Everton this morning.

Ramsey has been on Manchester United’s books since the club’s formation as a full-time professional team in 2018. The youngster has had to wait patiently for opportunities to impress in the first team. So often out of favour, Ramsey has enjoyed a number of loan moves away from her parent club. The 21-year-old has spent time with Sheffield United, West Ham United and Birmingham City in recent seasons. The player will now challenge Courtney Brosnan for the first-choice goalkeeping jersey at Everton in the upcoming season.

After sealing her loan move to Walton Hall Park, Ramsey said “I’m really happy to join Everton. I knew it’s a big opportunity when a club like Everton were interested, so it was a no-brainer for me.

“I had a good loan with Birmingham – I got exposed to a lot which was good for my growth – and I knew that I wanted to progress further with a club that had bigger ambitions in the league. Everton is perfect for that. I’m here to compete, get game-time and help the Club.”

Ramsey becomes Everton’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
