Manchester United, Everton and Spurs fight it out for Steve Bruce after Newcastle United lose him | OneFootball

After 27 months at Newcastle United, Steve Bruce was allowed to leave.

The football community in disbelief, that after the takeover, the new owners didn’t want to have the brilliant 60 year old mastermind what is to come now at St James Park.

Current and former professional football players, current and former managers, journalists and other media all around the world, united in their condemnation of Newcastle fans for not wanting to Steve Bruce to carry on, despite him doing such a magnificent job.

Having cast off those shackles of grateful NUFC fans and new owners, as one of the most important English managers of the last 100 years (copyright Mikel Arteta), it was always going to be intriguing to see which properly big club (as opposed to Newcastle United) would be the lucky ones to land Steve Bruce.

Well, we haven’t had to wait long, as now three big and lovely (as opposed to small and not so lovely NUCFC) Premier League clubs are set to fight it out to land the lad from Corbridge who has a glittering 23 year 1,000 game record on his CV.

Manchester United, Tottenham and Everton have made absolutely disastrous starts to the season and the fans of all three clubs are quite rightly demanding that their respective managers are sacked for doing such appalling jobs, especially when you compare the mess they have made, compared to how well Steve Bruce had done at Newcastle United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer embarrassingly failed to win the Premier League last season, only finishing second. Now he has his team top of their Champions League group and seventh in the Premier League, a real chasm having opened up of three points off the top four.

Rafa Benitez has Everton really struggling all the way down in eighth (finished tenth last season). This is despite having been given almost £2m to spend in the summer and having had almost fully four months to sort out the mess at Goodison Park. No wonder the Everton fans are absolutely rightly demanding he gets the sack after such a woeful attempt as manager and the incredible support they had given the Spaniard, such a lovely welcome they gave him from the very start, even taking a daubed message on a bedsheet around to Rafa’s house (unfortunately the dopes went to the wrong house…) to extend their love and respect for the Champions League winning boss.

As for Nuno, having been appointed by Spurs on the same day as Everton signed up Benitez, he also has had a long long almost four months to take Tottenham to their rightful place at the top. Spurs fans are struggling to deal with the shame of being all the way down in sixth (finished seventh last season) and a horrendous two points off the top four, no wonder these incredible supporters are demanding Nuno leaves ASAP. The only PL club to beat Man City this season, through to the last 16 of the League Cup, four points from three games in their Europa Conference group, you can see just how desperately they could do with a real top class manager with the kind of CV Steve Bruce has.

So Newcastle United fans are now watching on, worrying which of Man Utd, Everton and Tottenham will be the lucky ones to land the universally (apart from Tyneside) acclaimed former NUFC Head Coach, someone who they unanimously lauded when he had that impossible job dealing with ungrateful fans at St James Park.

It is surely now simply down to which club ‘one of the best in last 100 years’ Steve Bruce will choose, which lucky Premier League heavyweight is your money on?
