Manchester United cruise into UWCL second qualifying round final with victory over PSV | OneFootball

Manchester United have cruised into the UEFA Women’s Champions League’s second qualifying round final by defeating Dutch club PSV Eindhoven 4-0 in their semi-final tie in Stockholm this lunchtime.

Elisabeth Terland netted a hat-trick while Celin Bizet Ildhusøy was also on target as The Red Devils made a successful return to competitive action following the summer break.

Manchester United broke the deadlock after just seven minutes at the 3Arena. Lisa Naalsund forced PSV into an error before playing in Terland to score.

Debutant Julia Zigiotti Olme then hit the post before Terland had a goal chalked-off for offside.

Marc Skinner’s side deservedly doubled their lead just after the half-hour mark. PSV keeper Moon Biegel Esteves initially produced a save before Bizet was able to convert the rebound.

Manchester United made it three early in the second half. Terland was again the scorer with Ella Toone providing the assist. The Norwegian international then completed her hat-trick 10 minutes’ later.

PSV had their moments in the game and Chimera Ripa was unlucky not to reduce the arrears when she was denied by Manchester United keeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce late on as the contest ended 4-0.

Manchester United’s reward for today’s victory is a second qualifying round final tie against either Hammarby or Metalist 1925 Kharkiv on Saturday evening.
