Manchester United can sign Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo for £64m

According to Express, Manchester United can sign Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo for a combined sum of £64m next season. Haaland has a release clause that gets activated next season while Ronaldo’s contract ends with Juventus at the same time.

The Juventus superstar is one of the best players in the history of the game. Defying his age, the 36-year-old Ronaldo continues to impress. He scored 29 goals in 33 Serie A appearances for Juventus in an underwhelming season. His current deal is scheduled to end next season and there have been no talks over a potential extension.

Erling Haaland is another name that probably needs no introduction. The Norwegian is arguably the hottest prospect in the world right now and has impressed heavily at Borussia Dortmund. He produced a whopping tally of 41 goals and 12 assists in all competitions last season.

Given the Manchester United have operated in the transfer market so far, plugging in the gaps at the right times, next season would be the right time to sign some strikers. Edinson Cavani will be 35 in February next year while Mason Greenwood still has time to make himself comfortable in a central role.

Come next season United will be able to sign both Haaland and Ronaldo for a combined fee of £64m. That is of course Haaland’s release clause comes into effect while Ronaldo would essentially be a free transfer as he has shown no interest in signing a new contract with Juve.

Getting Haaland won’t be easy, especially with so much interest in him. However, United now have Sancho as well as Solskjaer, two figures Haaland knows and has worked with. As for Ronaldo, it’s highly debatable if United should be signing a striker who will be 37 next season. Nonetheless, United will need at least one striker next season and they will be hoping to get one.
