Manchester United want to sign Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford this summer, as per reports.

United have started their summer transfer business by addressing their attacking woes, having agreed a deal to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha.

The Red Devils are also in talks to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming they have agreed “the framework of a deal” for the English striker.

However, United also intend to make changes at the back, especially between the sticks on the back of Andre Onana’s torrid campaign.

The ex-Inter Milan star’s erratic style of goalkeeping came back to bite United on many occasions throughout the season.

The 29-year-old should have also done more to deny Brennan Johnson’s weak effort from going into the net in the Europa League final.

According to Givemesport, Onana faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford as United are keen to sign a replacement for the Cameroon international.

It is claimed Trafford is on United’s radar heading into the summer transfer window and the Premier League giants could “look to complete a move” for him “in the coming weeks.”

The 22-year-old played a vital role in Burnley’s automatic promotion back to the Premier League.

Known for his incredible reflexes and positioning, the Burnley youngster conceded just 16 goals in 45 appearances in the Championship this season. He kept 29 clean sheets, helping the Clarets record an incredible 100 points in the league.

The ex-Manchester City talent moved to Burnley in the summer of 2023 and is tied to the club until 2027. The report suggests it is not clear how much Burnley will demand to sanction his exit.

Amorim hinted at his desire for a change in the goalkeeping department by dropping Andre Onana from the matchday squad to face Aston Villa over the weekend.
