Manchester United clinch Europa League spot

Manchester United have finished sixth in the Premier League to clinch the final Europa League spot, despite losing 1-0 against Crystal Palace on the last day of the season.

Thanks to Brighton coming from behind to beat West Ham, the Red Devils will avoid playing Europa Conference League football next season.

However, we played like a team that warranted a place in the Europa Conference League, with our players hardly putting in a shift at Selhurst Park.

Obviously, the Champions League is the tournament everyone connected with United wants to be in, but right now we need to start building a team for the future.

Erik ten Hag could use one year in the Europa League to his advantage because United are miles away from winning Europe’s biggest prize.

The Dutchman watched his players from the stands and I’m sure he will be making notes on what he seen at Selhurst Park. None of the players had a good game.

To conclude, United finish the season on 58 points to mark our worst Premier League campaign. The previous low was 64 points in 2013-14.

Our goal difference this season stands at an embarrassing 0, which is not positive for the first time since 1990, and we conceded 57 goals.

What a terrible season it has been!
