Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is now “seriously considering” a stunning £80million move to Saudi Arabia.

And Saudi side Al Hilal are ready to stump up eye-watering sums to snap up United's only real star.

According to The Athletic, the Saudi Pro League club have tabled a four-year deal which would triple Fernandes’ salary.

Reports earlier this week, claimed that the Saudi side gave Fernandes a 72-hour deadline to accept a three-year contract worth £200million - which works out at around £700,000 a week tax-free, including bonuses.

The Mail report that Fernandes' agent held face-to-face talks with Al Hilal in a Riyadh hotel on Thursday, with discussions running long into the night.

A decision has not yet been made, and the clock is ticking, but Al Hilal remain not only hopeful as Fernandes has not yet rejected the move but encouraged that a transfer coup is a real possibility.

Fernandes has publicly floated the idea of an exit. In the immediate aftermath of United's Europa League final defeat to Tottenham, he told reporters: "If the club thinks it's time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it's what it is.

"Football sometimes is like this. I've always said I will be here until the club says to me that it's time to go.

"I'm eager to do more, to be able to bring the club to the great days. The day that the club thinks that I'm too much or it's time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it. But I've always said it and I keep my word in the same way."

Ruben Amorim has since insisted he wants his captain to say, but did add recently that "it’s important for Bruno to see that we are changing a lot of things in our club. The behaviour, the everyday organisation, the pace of training."

The United manager continued: "All these things, if he sees that we are doing that across all levels, he will want to stay at this club. He loves this club.

"That is the most important thing - not the Champions League. He wants to win with this club and he trains and behaves at a high level. Everybody here needs to do that - he will be here for that."
