Manchester United have had endured a lacklustre period in the summer transfer market so far. But, with less than seven days left in the transfer market, things have started looking to accelerate from United’s point of view.

According to Italian-based journalist, Gianluca di Marzio, Serie A giants Lazio are closing in on securing Andreas Pereira’s services. It has been claimed that Lazio’s boss, Simone Inzaghi, sees the Brazilian as an extraordinary option to bulk up their midfield.

As the story suggests, the Italian side are expecting to complete a season-long loan deal with an option to buy following the expiration of the stint.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Lazio are ready to pay more than half of Pereira’s wages.

United have played three competitive matches so far in the 2020-21 season, and Andreas Pereira hasn’t had made any matchday squad.

He was one of the starters within the team during the opening few months of football last season. However, Bruno Fernandes’ arrival in the January transfer window snatched his berth.

Both Juan Mata and Donny Van de Beek are preferred over Pereira.

It finally seems as if United are considering shifting one of their surpluses before the culmination of the transfer window.

Pereira played 75 senior matches for the Mancunian side, scoring four and assisting five in total across all competitions.

After attaining Champions League football last term, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s current aim is to close the gigantic gap between them and the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.

Andreas Pereira has no future under the supervision of the Norweigan gaffer. Should the 24-year-old want to rescue his career, a move away from Old Trafford this summer is the most practical route to do so.
