Manchester United are second on the list of highest goal contributions from clubs through their players at the World Cup.

Barcelona leads the list, which is largely due to their Spanish internationals that contributed during their 7-0 thrashing of Costa Rica. They have 10 involvements in total, thanks to their Spaniards and the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Frenkie de Jong and Andreas Christensen.

Next up though is the Red Devils with eight contributions, which should make United supporters proud to see the squad performing on the world’s biggest stage. Bruno Fernandes is joint alongside Kylian Mbappe for individual goal involvements and the 28-year-old has been instrumental in Portugal’s progression to the Round of 16. He has two goals and two assists to his name already.

Reds impressing on the world stage

Yesterday, Casemiro struck a superb half-volley in the closing stages of Brazil’s clash with Switzerland to secure qualification out of the group-stage. He was named Man of the Match after another dominant display in midfield.

The three English Reds on international duty all contributed in England’s 6-2 win over Iran last week; Luke Shaw assisted Jude Bellingham for the opener, Harry Maguire assisted Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford netted a goal after only 49 seconds on the pitch.

The Three Lions look set to qualify tonight providing they avoid a four-goal defeat to Wales. Rashford is in line to start the match.
