Manchester United are second for player goal contributions at World Cup | OneFootball

Manchester United are second on the list of highest goal contributions from clubs through their players at the World Cup.

Barcelona leads the list, which is largely due to their Spanish internationals that contributed during their 7-0 thrashing of Costa Rica. They have 10 involvements in total, thanks to their Spaniards and the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Frenkie de Jong and Andreas Christensen.

Next up though is the Red Devils with eight contributions, which should make United supporters proud to see the squad performing on the world’s biggest stage. Bruno Fernandes is joint alongside Kylian Mbappe for individual goal involvements and the 28-year-old has been instrumental in Portugal’s progression to the Round of 16. He has two goals and two assists to his name already.

Yesterday, Casemiro struck a superb half-volley in the closing stages of Brazil’s clash with Switzerland to secure qualification out of the group-stage. He was named Man of the Match after another dominant display in midfield.
